I led my 4 year old daughter to the Lord today. What a great day it has turned out to be! That brings me great parental satisfaction, knowing that my daughter belongs to the Lord. The other moment that brings great satisfaction to me is teaching my children how to read. If I only do those 2 things with my children then I've done enough. Everything else is gravy. I know it isn't that simple. I guess what I mean is that a great foundation has begun for my childrens' lives when they 1. know the Lord as their personal savior, and 2. open up the world to themselves through reading.
Really though, once my child belongs to God it seems that my job as a parent is to continue modeling and guiding my child to see God as the source for everything necessary in life. Maybe that is another one of those parenting secrets.
